Gray, Palotti & Toombs Tabbed Women's Championship Outdoor Award Winners

 Jacksonville's Savyon Toombs & Hayleigh Palotti joined Kennesaw State's Jordan Gray as award winners from the 2019 ASUN Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship, competed last week in Jacksonville, Fla.

Jacksonville's Savyon Toombs helped the Dolphins to three event wins as she claimed the individual 200m title in a time of 23.59 before adding relay victories in the 4x100m & 4x400m. In the 4x100m, Toombs ran the third leg of the race as JU set the new meet record in 44.32 before adding another meet record in the 4x400m with a time of 3:35.77. Her award marks the 10th occurrence for Jacksonville as a Dolphin has won the honor in six of the past seven seasons.

Kennesaw State's Jordan Gray totaled 31 points at the ASUN Championship to win the Most Outstanding Championship performer and adds the title of Most Outsanding Field performer, an award she previously won in 2017. Gray collected a victory in the Long Jump, while adding podium finishes in the Javelin (2nd) & Shot Put (2nd). She also scored points for KSU in the Pole Vault (4th) & Discus (6th).

Jacksonville's Hayleigh Palotti becomes the the eighth Dolphin in league history and first since 2016 (Jackie Baldwin) to earn the Most Outstanding Freshman Performer. Palotti raced in two events last weekend and scored 12 points for Jacksonville as she cruised to an eight-second win in the 3,000m Steeplechase (10:33.85) and added a fifth-place showing in the 1,500m Run (4:47.84).
