KENNESAW, Ga. - Jordan Gray has punched her ticket to represent Kennesaw State at the 2019 NCAA Track and Field Championships Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Alabama on Friday (Feb. 8).
Gray will compete for the Owls in the long jump and pentathlon.To qualify for the NCAA Indoor National Championships, individuals must finish in the top-16 nationally in their specific event or top-12 in relay at the end of the season. Gray qualified for the pentathlon scoring 4218 points in a victory in the pentathlon at the Samford Multi Meet back on January 17. In the event, Gray won the shot put with a toss of 13.42m (44'0.5") and the long jump with a leap of 6.00m (19'8.25").That 4218 points ranked No.7 in the country this season. Gray qualified for the long jump with a leap of 6.45m (21'2) at the ETSU Track and Field Invitational on January 3. That jump ranked No. 3 in the NCAA this season.
Gray are the first women to represent Kennesaw State at the NCAA Track and Field Indoor Championships. She is also the first female to represent the ASUN Conference in the NCAA Championships since 2012. The redshirt senior is also the first female athlete ever to represent the ASUN in two events at the NCAA Championships.
