2020 Women's @ASUNTennis Season Preview: North Alabama Lions

North Alabama Schedule 

ATLANTA, Ga. - As a new year of ASUN Conference Women's Tennis is set to get into full swing, we take a closer look at the North Alabama Lions who begin their 2020 season on January 12.

Last season was the first for North Alabama competing in the ASUN and at the Division I level. This season's roster features only two upperclassmen, one senior and one junior, along with three sophomores and three freshmen. UNA's top returner is sophomore Sydney Flesch who went 6-11 overall on the year with victories against South Alabama and Western Kentucky. In her first season with the Lions, freshman Payton Andrews had an overall record of 5-13 which included wins over Alabama State, Jacksonville State and Kennesaw State. 

The Lions begin their 2020 campaign with a tough matchup on the road when they travel to Knoxville, Tenn., to face No. 22 Tennessee on Jan. 12. This is followed by another road contest against Louisville on Jan. 17, before the season's home opener against Tennessee State on Jan. 31. ASUN play for UNA gets started on March 26, when the Lions welcome North Florida to Florence. The Lions also face Stetson at home on March 28, before competing in their first conference road match in Newark against NJIT.
