Ospreys Earn Fifth-Straight #ASUNWTEN Finals Berth, to Face FGCU

DeLAND, Fla. 
- Second-seeded North Florida claimed a trip to its fifth-straight ASUN Women's Tennis Championship, knocking off No. 3 Lipscomb by a final score of 4-0.

The Ospreys jumped out early, claiming the doubles point to gain a 1-0 advantage. The third pair of Ana Paula Melilo and Valentina Marriotto began the day with a win, opening with a 6-1 finish in their doubles match. The other two doubles matches went tighter, with Constanza Gorches and Rafaela Gomez earning a 7-5 win on the first court to clinch the doubles point.

Singles was a bit smoother sailing for the Ospreys, with UNF clinching three matches in straight-sets to hit the clinching 4-0 victory. Courts two, four and six provided the winning scores with Marriotto sealing the deal at the  No. 4 spot via a 6-3, 6-4 victory. Lucia Montano on court two and Florencia Rossi on court six added the other wins, each coming in straight sets.

The Ospreys now appear in their fifth-straight Championship Finals and ninth in the past ten seasons and face off with FGCU. Head Coach Mariana Cobra has now led her team to appearances in the Finals in all three of her seasons with the Ospreys. Lipscomb's season finishes with an overall mark of 17-6 and 5-2 mark in ASUN action.
