CONWAY, S.C. - The 2019 ASUN Lacrosse Championship kicks off on Thursday afternoon on the campus of Coastal Carolina with two semifinal games. Top seed Jacksonville opens up the tournament when they face No. 4 Kennesaw State. Following will be No. 2 Liberty against the three seed and host, Coastal Carolina.

Jacksonville won its seventh ASUN Regular Season Title, as they finished with a perfect 6-0 record in league play. The Dolphins boast one of the league's most balanced teams in the ASUN, as they have nine players who have tallied at least 20 points this season and at least seven players with 20 goals. Jacksonville has the top freshman in the league in goaltender Dayna Martinetto. The freshman keeper was tabbed Freshman of the Year by the coaches after guiding the Dolphins to 13 wins and leading the league in goals against and goals against average. Kennesaw State returns to the ASUN Championship after falling in the semifinals last season. The Owls have ASUN Player of the Year, Siena Gore leading the charge. Gore leads the ASUN in goal scoring with 67, after notching 68 in her freshman campaign in 2018. Kennesaw State looks for their first-ever win at the ASUN Championship when they tangle with the Dolphins on Friday afternoon. 

No. 2 Liberty took the ASUN by storm this season in their first season in the league, as they finished with a 13-4 record and a 5-1 mark in league play. The Flames' 13 wins are tied for the program record set by last year's squad. First Team All-Conference members, Carly White and Brianna McCaffrey lead the Flames into their first-ever ASUN Championship. White leads the squad with 57 points on 33 goals and 24 assists. McCaffrey is one of the top two-way players in the league, as she has notched 29 goals this season and ranks second in the nation in caused turnovers per game with 3.19. Coastal Carolina rolls into their third-straight ASUN Championship looking to get back to the Championship Final for the third-straight season. The Chanticleers have two of the top players in the league in Player of the Year, Haley Alexander and Defensive Player of the Year, Harley Barrett. Alexander is second in the league in goals and points with 51 and 69 respectively. Barrett was tabbed Defensive Player of the Year for the second-straight season, as she led the ASUN in save percentage and ranked third in goals against and goals against average.
