ATLANTA, Ga. - Lipscomb's Brent Leber followed up his victory at the 2019 ASUN Conference Men's Cross Country Championship by being tabbed the Men's Scholar-Athlete of the Year, announced Wednesday by the league office. Leber becomes the second Bisons' Men's Cross Country runner to win the award after Jacob Poyner took home the honor in 2017.

With a 3.96 cumulative GPA as an Exercise Science Major, Leber highlights the seven-person ASUN All-Academic Team. Leber claimed the ASUN Runner of the Year honors with a first-place finish, four seconds ahead of the runner-up. His victory marked the second individual title for Lipscomb in two years following Poyner's win in 2017.

The All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom. All the members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's events.
