North Florida's Escobar Sweeps Track & Field Scholar-Athlete Honors

2019 ASUN Men's Outdoor Track & Field All-Academic Team

ATLANTA, Ga. - George Escobar became North Florida's first-ever ASUN Conference Men's Outdoor Track & Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year as he highlighted the 12-person All-Academic Team. Escobar swept the Track & Field Scholar-Athlete honors as he was also named the Indoor Scholar-Athlete earlier this year.

Holding a 3.94 cumulative GPA in Accounting, Escobar joins his brother, JT Escobar, who claimed the ASUN Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor, earlier this year. At the ASUN Outdoor Championship, Escobar placed third in the 400m Dash with a time of 47.99 and ran the opening leg of the 4x400m Relay for the Ospreys.

The All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the track and in the classroom and exemplify the ASUN's mission of Building Winners for Life. All the members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's events.
