Liberty holds a 21-point at the 2019 ASUN Conference Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Kennesaw State after six events scored on the opening day of competition. Records fell in several championship events including the 10,000-meter run, 3,000m Steeplechase, Hammer Throw & Shot Put.

Liberty collected three events wins on Friday at North Florida's Hodges Stadium, coming in the 10,000m, Steeplechase, Pole Vault and Shot courtesy of Azaria Kirwa, Felix Kandie, Anders Janes and Kyle Mitchell. Kirwa's 10K time of 29:47.01 broke the previous meet record set in 2012 by 29 seconds, while Kandie bested the Steeplechase chase time set in 2013 by 14 seconds. Mitchell's top toss of 17.84 meters was one of three Shot Put performances to best the previous mark of 16.89 originally set in 2010. Janes added the Pole Vault victory with his top height of 5.02 meters.

Kennesaw State's Daniel Haugh shattered the Hammer Throw record by 10 meters as his top toss sailed 74.78 meters to give him a victory by 18 meters as his teammates Chuck McConville (56.98) and Tyler Blalock (49.92) took second and third. Paris Williams took the Long Jump crown with his furthest distance of 7.16 meters ahead of NJIT's Nasiem Chandler (7.06) and Liberty's Jeremy Davis (6.86). In the 100 Dash trials, Omar Diaz posted the fastest time at 10.61 ahead of Liberty's Alejandro Perlaza Zapata (10.63) and Lipscomb's Grant Mason (10.65).

Halfway through the Decathlon, Liberty's tandem of Davis and Kysheen Myrick control the top-two spots with 3,482 and 3,459 points, respectively, after posting victories in four of the five events. Davis took the Long Jump, while Myrick registered first place in the 100m, Shot Put and High Jump. NJIT's Pritinder Singh owns third position going into Saturday after taking first in the 400m Dash.
