Owls Advance to #ASUNMTEN Semifinals Behind Third-Set Victory

DeLAND, Fla. 
- Fourth-seeded Kennesaw State pulled out a tough 4-2 victory vs. Stetson to advance into the ASUN Men's Tennis Semifinals. After claiming the doubles point, Fermin Calvo Barcelo, Bryan Triana and Jose Galvez grabbed singles victories to propel the Owls.

The doubles pairs of Bryan Triana and Jose Galvez as well as Gaston Muhammad and Lucas de Torres Curth each claimed 6-2 victories to open the match, giving KSU an early 1-0 lead. Triana was then the first to complete his singles match, sweeping at the No. 2 spot in 6-2, 6-4 fashion.

A win by First Team All-Conference honoree Fermin Calvo Barcelo by the score of 7-5, 6-3 at the No. 1 spot gave the Owls a 3-0 advantage while the remaining four matches all went to a third set. It was Jose Galvez out of the No. 6 spot who provided the winning point for the Owls, winning the third set of his match 6-4.

The Owls now move on to face top-seeded FGCU in the ASUN Semifinals. The two teams met to end the regular season with the Eagles claiming a 4-1 victory during a day that was extended due to weather delays in Fort Myers.
