Second Full Weekend of #ASUNMTEN Action Features Four Showdowns

ATLANTA, Ga. - ASUN Conference Men's Tennis enters the second weekend of full league action after the first weekend featured rematches from the ASUN Championship and new members getting underway for the first time. FGCU and Liberty are the only remaining undefeated programs in league play, with the Eagles and Flames sitting at 2-0. 

Upcoming ASUN Men's Tennis Schedule

March 30th
- NJIT vs. North Florida - 10 AM
- Kennesaw State vs. North Alabama - 2 PM
- Stetson vs. FGCU - 2 PM
- Liberty vs. Lipscomb - 3 PM

Team-By-Team Breakdown
FGCU Eagles (6-8; 2-0) - Follow @FGCU_MTen
- One of two undefeated teams in the ASUN, FGCU looks for a 3-0 start in league action for the first time since 2016 when the Eagles finished at a perfect 6-0 in conference play
- In conference play, Felipe Escobar, Felipe Ramirez and Marcelo Tebet have yet to drop a set in singles play. Only Escobar has needed to go into a tiebreaker during his second set thus far

Kennesaw State Owls (7-9; 1-1) - Follow @KSUMensTennis
- The Owls picked up a big road win in their last ASUN contest vs. Lipscomb. KSU mustered four singles victories in the contest, all coming between spots three and six in the rotation
- In the match with Lipscomb, Bryan Triana picked up his first ASUN singles win of the year, topping Pedro Uribe in No. 3 singles. The 2018 All-Freshman Team member now has five wins during dual play

Liberty Flames (8-9; 2-0) - Follow @LUMensTennis 
- The Flames look to extend a two-game winning streak in conference play by hosting Lipscomb. This meeting marks the first-ever between the Bisons and Flames
- Josh Wilson was the key contributor for the Flames last weekend, winning a pair of singles matches and a doubles match in conference action. Both of the singles matches went into a third set

Lipscomb Bisons (6-9; 1-1) - Follow @LipscombMTEN
- The Bisons enter the weekend having split their first two conference matches, picking up a win at North Alabama. Preparing to face Liberty, this marks the first-ever meeting between the two sides
- Victor Chaw did what no one has in nearly two years, topping Kennesaw State's Fermin Calvo Barcelo in singles play for a conference match. It was the first win vs. Calvo Barcelo since April of 2017

NJIT Highlanders (4-10; 0-2) - Follow @NJITHighlanders
- The Highlanders host North Florida looking for the team's first victory vs. the Ospreys. Two of the team's four victories this season have come at home
- Tomi Antoljak and Zac Castagna both took home singles victories in last season's meeting with UNF. Each won in straight sets from the Nos. 1 and 5 slots

North Alabama Lions (2-12; 0-2) - Follow @UNATennis
- The Lions continue their search for their first ASUN win by visiting Kennesaw State. This marks the first-ever meeting between the Lions and Owls
- UNA dominated in singles play to grab a win the last time out vs. Austin Peay. After dropping the doubles point, the Lions took five singles matches to win 5-2 against the Governors

North Florida Ospreys (8-9; 1-1) - Follow @OspreyMTEN
- The Ospreys meet NJIT on Saturday for the fourth time ever, all coming in conference play. UNF has taken each of the first three meetings, holding the Highlanders under one point in two matches
- Nilo Duarte claimed the first Player of the Week award of his career following a singles match that clinched the win vs. Stetson. He paired with Sahil Deshmukh to top the 78th-ranked pair out of Brown as well

Stetson Hatters (9-8; 1-1) - Follow @StetsonTennis
- The only team in the ASUN with an overall winning record, Stetson looks to hit double digit wins with a matchup vs. FGCU. Stetson took both meetings last year including in the ASUN Championship Semifinal
- Freshman Tim Gennes has posted a 10-6 mark in singles play thus far in the dual season. The native of Germany has at least four wins in both the Nos. 3 and 4 spots in the rotation
