Stetson Men Rally to Win @ASUNTennis Opener

Stetson men's tennis rallied for a 4-3 win over NJIT in the ASUN Conference opener for both teams, Saturday at Naimoli Center in Newark, N.J.
 
The Hatters (9-7 overall, 1-0 ASUN) opened the day with a thrilling win in doubles. NJIT began doubles play with a 7-5 win on Court 3, but the Hatters stormed back as Antoine Sanchez & Colter DeCoste grabbed a7-5 win on Court 2, and Josh Laka & Tim Gennes outlasted their opponents on Court 1 for a 7-6 victory.
 
Up 1-0 on the scoreboard, the Hatters quickly fell behind once play turned to singles. The Highlanders won singles matches on Courts 3 and 4, but the Hatters tied the match asLouis Gorregues pulled out a 7-6, 6-4 win on Court 1.
 
NJIT regained the lead with a win on Court 2, before the Hatters finished strong. Christian Mills evened the team scored with a 6-2, 7-6 victory on Court 6, and senior Coilin MacNamara gave Stetson the overall win with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-0 triumph on Court 5.
 
The Hatters continue ASUN play when they visit North Florida on Saturday, March 23 in Jacksonville.
