ATLANTA, Ga. - Sam Ryder and Russel Knox, two former ASUN Conference Men's Golfers, ended the their season ranked within the top-125 of the 2019 FedEx Cup Playoffs. Seamus Power finished the season inside the top-150.
Ryder, a former Stetson great and two-time ASUN All-Conference honoree, finished the 2019 season ranked 107 after his final round at The Northern Trust. He started his second year on the PGA Tour with a top-five finish at the Safeway Open where he finished tied fourth with a 13-under-par 275 for his four rounds. He tabbed his second top-five finish at Shriners Hospitals for Children Open with a third place finish at 19-under, with a career low 62 in the final round. He also had a top-20 finish at the John Deer Classic with a 13-under 271 that was good for a tie for 18th.
Knox, an ASUN Conference Hall of Famer, wrapped up his eighth season on the PGA Tour ranked 110. The former Jacksonville standout had five top-20 finishes last season, highlighted by his two top-10 finishes at the Charles Schwab Challenge (T8) and the Waste Management Phoenix Open (T10). His other top finishes were at the ISPS Handa Melbourne World Cup of Golf (T14th), AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (T14th) and Desert Classic (T18th).
Power, the 2009 ASUN Conference Men's Golfer of the Year, also had two top-10 finishes like his former ASUN standouts Ryder and Knox. His best finish in the 2018-19 season was a tie for fifth at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, where he shot a 20-under par 268 between the four rounds. His second top-10 finish took place at RBC Heritage (T6).
Vince Covello, a former North Florida golfer (2001-2003), earned his PGA Tour card for the 2019-2020 season with a top-25 finish on the Korn Ferry Tour.
In the U.S. Amateur Jordan Batchelor, a recent graduate of UNF, finished at six-over par. Cody Carroll, a current student-athlete for the Ospreys, finished the U.S. Amateur at 17-over par.
