2019-20 @ASUNMBB Season Preview: Stetson Hatters

Stetson Schedule

ATLANTA, Ga. - With the 2019-20 ASUN Men's Basketball season approaching, we scope out our nine conference squads in preparation of the 42nd season. Stetson enters the year under new leadership and with plenty of new faces joining the roster.

The Hatters prepare for a new era under Head Coach Donnie Jones who takes the lead after previously serving as the assistant coach at Dayton. Eight newcomers, including six freshmen, join top returner Christiaan Jones on the 2019 squad. Last season as a sophomore, Jones averaged 10.4 points per game and made 40 three-point field goals. Stetson also returns sophomore Kenny Aninye and junior Jahlil Rawley. Aninye started 26 games for the Hatters and racked up 111 assists in 2018-19 while Rawley added 85 assists and recorded 35 steals.

Stetson has a few notable non-conference opponents this season with trips to Ohio State and South Carolina on the slate. The team also faces off against Iona and Monmouth in the first annual ASUN/MAAC Challenge on Nov. 22 and 23. The Hatters open up conference play when they welcome Lipscomb to the Edmunds Center on Jan. 2.
