The ASUN Conference awarded the 2016-17 Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year award to Stetson's senior forward Brian Pegg, announced Friday by the conference office. Pegg is joined by seven other men's basketball student-athletes on the All-Academic Team.

Pegg, a three-time All-Academic selections, is currently pursuing his Masters in Business Administration and posted a 3.80 GPA in his first semester of graduate school. He becomes only the second student-athlete in conference history to land on the All-Academic Team in three years joining North Florida's Demarcus Daniels. Pegg also joins his brother, Adam, who was tabbed the ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the 2012-13 season.

The Clearwater, Fla. native is one of four active ASUN players with 1,000 career points and 750 career rebounds as he enters the ASUN Championship with 1084 points and 763 boards.
