ATLANTA, Ga. - Two ASUN Conference Baseball pitchers were named to the 2019 National Pitcher of the Year watch list, released by the College Baseball Hall of Fame. FGCU's Mason Studstill and Liberty's Andrew McInvale were among the 69 total players named to the watch list.
A junior in his first season with the Eagles, Studstill leads the team with a 1.31 ERA that places second in the ASUN. Holding a 5-0 mark on the mound, the righty has totaled five starts this season in which he has given up three hits or less. Holding a 2-0 mark in ASUN play, the former Miami player has struck out at least six hitters in each of his four starts in conference play and leads the conference with 78 overall this season.
McInvale is in his first year with Liberty as well, leading the ASUN and placing 10th in the nation with seven victories thus far. A junior that formerly pitched at Baylor, McInvale places highly in a handful of major pitching categories in the ASUN including innings pitched (1st, 63.0), strikeouts (4th, 69) and ERA (6th, 2.86). Helping to lead the Flames to a 29-10 mark, McInvale has been the staff ace for the current first-place team in the conference.
