LakePoint, Ga. - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) honored teams and individuals on Monday, July 23rd for their academic achievements. All six ASUN Women's Lacrosse teams and newcomer Liberty received recognition, as well as 30 student-athletes for their academic success in 2017-18.
Five of the seven teams honored were repeat honorees from the previous seasons, while Howard and Liberty make an appearance on this year's list. Coastal Carolina, Howard, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Liberty, Old Dominion and Stetson all posted cumulative team GPA's of 3.0 or higher in 2017-18.
The Dolphins and the Owls led the league with six individual honorees each. To be recognized on the individual honor roll a student-athlete must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
Coastal and Old Dominion both boasted five honorees, while Stetson had four, Liberty had three and Howard had one.
In total, the IWLCA recognized 462 individuals from 105 Division-I institutions on the Academic Honor Roll. A combined 339 Women's Lacrosse squads across all NCAA Divisions were recognized as Academic Honor Squads in 2017-18.
